چکیده
F 76-year-old woman presented to hospital with a -month history of progressively worsening central hest pain. Her medical history was remarkable for previous aortic valve replacement with an ascendng aortic interposition graft 10 years earlier. A computed tomography (CT) scan showed a arge ascending aortic pseudoaneurysm with aortic ommunication through a defect at the superior spect of the structure, below the level of the nnominate vessels. Given the position of the seudoaneurysm, the risk of repeat sternotomy was hought too high. Furthermore, the abdominal orta was severely diseased and tortuous, making otential delivery of a covered stent difficult. It was herefore decided to attempt to close the mouth of he defect percutaneously. Vascular access was achieved via the right brahial artery, and aortography demonstrated modrate dehiscence at the posterior aspect of the uperior margin of the interposition graft (Fig. 1A, nline Video 1). Adjuvant intracardiac echocardigraphy (ICE) was performed with the imaging atheter in the superior vena cava and demontrated a leak from the true aortic lumen into the alse cavity (Fig. 1B). A 6-F Judkins right catheter as used with a 0.035-inch exchange length wire o enter the defect, and contrast injection through he catheter further defined the anatomy of the

Bailout Endovascular Stent Grafting for an Ascending Aortic Pseudoaneurysm Using an Infrarenal Aortic Extension Cuff
We report successful thoracic endovascular repair of a pseudoaneurysm rupture in the ascending aorta using infrarenal endovascular devices after an aortic valve replacement. Complete exclusion of the pseudoaneurysm was achieved with no endoleak or postoperative complications. Despite limitations of the current technology, this endovascular technique was a relatively less invasive, feasible life...
متن کاملSurgical Repair of a Pseudoaneurysm of the Ascending Aorta after Previous Aortic Valve Replacement and Aneurysmorrhaphy
We report the case of a patient with a pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta. He was referred to our hospital because of chest pain and dyspnea. A preoperative diagnostic evaluation revealed a large pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta close to the proximal anastomotic site of the graft. During surgery, the pseudoaneurysm originated from an intimal defect in the aortic wall on the right side o...
متن کاملAortic Pseudo aneurysm 3 Years after Interposition Tube Graft for Acute Dissection of Ascending Aorta
Introduction: Patients with primary acute aortic dissection are at higher risk of complications, including increasing aortic aneurysm diameter, aortic rupture, aortic pseudo aneurysm, and recurrent aortic dissection. Case presentation We presented the case of a recurrent pseudo aneurysm and rupture of the aorta in the distal a...
متن کاملGiant Aortic Pseudoaneurysm with Stanford Type A Aortic Dissection after Aortic Valve Replacement
Giant pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta is a rare but dreadful complication occurring several months or years after aortic surgery. Thoracic aortic aneurysms tend to be asymptomatic and were previously often diagnosed only after a complication such as dissection or rupture. We present a rare case of giant ascending aneurysm with Stanford type A aortic dissection occurring 6 years after aort...
متن کاملIntraoperative Epiaortic Ultrasound for Traumatic Pseudoaneurysm of the Ascending Aorta.
Epiaortic ultrasound is an imaging modality that is commonly used to evaluate the ascending aorta for atheroma and other mural lesions during elective cardiac surgery. Its use in contained aortic rupture has not been established. We present a case of thoracic trauma with contained pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta. At operation, the precise location of the aortic tear could not be identifie...
